Ghanaian gospel musician, Nana Yaw Boakye, mostly known as MOG Music has waded into the LGBTQI+ discussion in a recent interview.
In an interview with Ibrahim Ben-Bako on Joy Prime, MOG expressed that he sees nothing wrong working with someone who identified as gay.
The gospel star revealed that gay people were like any other people and had to be loved and treated fairly rather than calling them out.
According to him, he doesn’t have a problem embracing people who identified as LGBTQI+, adding that through proselytising, one could lead a member of the LGBTQI+ community into the light of Christ’s saving grace.
Conversation as to whether or not LGBTQ should be legalized has been the centre of attraction in the Ghanaian media in recent times, and various religious groups and individuals have expressed diverse opinions to its effect.
Many international celebrities including Idris Elba and Naomi Campbell have backed LGBTQ legalization, while others have opposed it, making direct reference to the Ghanaian culture and traditions.
